It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph E. Morreale, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman, who peacefully departed this life on March 17, 2024. Born on September 22, 1943, in Agrigento, Sicily, Joseph's journey was one of dedication, love, and unwavering strength. He was a resident of Colts Neck, New Jersey for 25 years and is a current resident of Farmingdale, New Jersey and Deerfield Beach, Florida where he spent his winter months.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Morreale, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion and warmth that will continue to inspire those who knew him. His children, Robert Morreale and wife Gina of Colts Neck, NJ, Debra Fanelli and husband Vic of Colts Neck, NJ, and Christine Legler and husband Chad of Ellicott City, Maryland, will forever hold dear the lessons of love and resilience he imparted.
In addition to his immediate family, Joseph is also mourned by his brothers, Alfonso Morreale and his wife Maria, Edward Morreale and his wife Maryellen, along with his adoring grandchildren: Gianna Fanelli, Victor Fanelli, Robert Morreale Jr., Cameron Legler, and Caden Legler. Joseph's life was enriched by the presence of these dear ones, and his memory will live on in their hearts. He was the proud owner of Morreale Asphalt Paving for over 40 years and after retirement he was the founder of Bloomingdale Car Wash in Staten Island, New York, a testament to his dedication and hard work.
Joseph found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments spent with his family. Whether hunting, crabbing, gardening, cooking delicious Italian meals, competing on the shuffleboard court, playing cards or enjoying a good game of Rummikub, he embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. Joseph was on the board and served as a Director at the Penthouse North Association in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Known for his compassionate nature and sage advice, Joseph was a pillar of strength for his family and friends. His warm smile and attentive ear brought comfort to those in need, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Joseph on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at The Parish of St. Mary’s, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, New Jersey 07722. Entombment will follow at approximately 12:30 PM at Marlboro Memorial Park, 361 Highway/Route 79, Marlboro/Morganville, New Jersey 07751.
