Phyllis Anne Comey (née Covello), aged 70, returned suddenly to God’s Grace on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Phyllis was born on August 2, 1953, to Arcangelo and Elizabeth Covello. A Manhattan native, Phyllis relocated to Jersey City where she met her husband, Thomas Comey, Sr. A paralegal turned successful business owner, her proudest accomplishment was watching her children and grandchildren grow. She was a devoted and dedicated mother and Nonni. Her pride in her children and grandchildren was evident in all that she did.
Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, Arcangelo and Elizabeth Covello, and her brothers, Michael and Joseph Covello. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Thomas Comey Sr.; her loving children, Jacqueline Comey, AimeeLee Comey, Thomas Comey II, Patrick Comey, and Lori Patel and her husband, Vipul; her cherished grandchildren, Zachary Bilheimer, Kyle Patel, Troy Patel, and Leah Patel; and her dear siblings, Rosemarie Costanzo, Frances Zizka, and Daniel Covello. Phyllis will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday morning, March 23, 2024 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, at 10:45 AM at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 31 Chamberlain Avenue, Little Ferry, New Jersey 07643.
